How rugged is this — dust, vibration, temperature?
We deploy industrial MAX units (wide temperature range, fanless, rugged mounts) in site-hardened enclosures, with outdoor-rated PoE access points. Built for the trailer and the tower, not the office closet.
Power and generator redundancy?
DC/ignition-sensing units plus a UPS ride through generator switchovers, with a planned PoE budget and an optional HA pair where uptime is critical.
Network design
Cameras, sensors, IoT, BIM sync — VLANs or separate SSIDs?
Each class gets its own VLAN/SSID — cameras, IoT/access-control, staff, and guest — with the firewall isolating them and bandwidth caps on the heavy ones (time-lapse/CCTV). Cloud BIM and Procore/Autodesk sync just needs reliable, prioritized internet; no special integration.
How do I plan bandwidth as the site grows?
Start with dual-5G bonding, then add carriers or Starlink as users and cameras grow. InControl shows usage so you scale WANs on evidence, and bandwidth reservations protect the critical classes.
Cell coverage is terrible (rural/highway) — can Starlink lead?
Yes — bond Starlink as a primary/always-on WAN with cellular as smoothing/failover, enable “ignore Starlink outages,” and place the dish for a clear sky view.
AP placement and site Wi-Fi?
Plan APs for overlapping coverage without co-channel interference, mesh where cabling is impractical, and validate with a site survey in InControl.
Logistics
Permitting/insurance for temporary masts or antenna towers?
Masts and towers can require local permits and insurance; the Peplink gear itself is standard low-power networking. We advise on antenna placement and coverage — permitting and structural sign-off stay with the GC.
Handover at project end — de-install and asset tracking?
Kits are portable and reusable to the next job. InControl tracks every device by serial; you de-provision the site or move the tag to re-home the whole configuration on the next mobilization.
